A visit to North Kolkata is a must every Durga Puja, with
the oldest lanes of the city housing some of the most aesthetic pandals,
crafted carefully by the artistic neighbourhood. Known for appreciating
creativity above all else, there are architectural marvels in every alleyway of
north Kolkata. During this year’s festival, a 330 plus-year-old heritage
building in Jorabagan will be the melting point of creativity energy — hosting
a unique photography exhibition.
Window Photography School is collaborating with Hara Kutir
to showcase 50 large black-and-white photographs at the venue captured by 18 of
its students and their mentors. Titled, ‘From the Streets to Souls of Heritage:
The Essence of Pathuriaghata & Its Neighbourhood’, the exhibition will be
centred around North Kolkata’s rich cultural heritage. The images have been
divided into six themes: Ganga, people, architecture, transportation, gods and
goddesses and streets and lanes; covering every aspect of the residents’ daily
lives. If you’re a photography enthusiast, don’t forget to drop by.

Santoshpur, Jorabagan, Kolkata, West Bengal - 700006
Dates: Mahalaya to Nabami (October 2-12)
