The French Classical Music Concert Series is returning to Victoria Memorial Hall for a second edition, after a successful inaugural run that culminated this March. The first edition drew over 2,500 people to French classical music.
Alliance Francaise Du Bengale and The Consulate General of France in Kolkata want to keep this musical spirit alive, roping in more French artists to Victoria Memorial Hall for scintillating performances.
The first concert, titled, 'French Brass Splendor' will witness a collaboration between Nicolas Chatenet, Jean-Baptiste Arnold and Nadine Jo Crasto today, at 6:30pm.
This will be followed by 'Grand Vivaldi Concert-Venice 1725' on December 18, featuring Kolkata Sinfonietta Choir and Orchestra, conducted by Didier Talpain. The third concert, Piano A Deux, features Justin McCarthy and Nadine Jo Crasto on January 22, 2024. February 14th will see the fourth installment, titled, The Music of Love on Screen, featuring violinist Isabelle Durin and pianist Maxime Zecchini. The series will conclude with a Woman's Day Concert on March 11, featuring Kim Barbier, Violaine Dufes, and Camille Donnat-Bart.
"We took time to choose programmes and artistes - from Paris, Reims, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata - for our second season with one idea: to bring you renewed emotions through Western Classical Music," said Didier Talpain, Consul General of France in Kolkata.
