Experience the beauty of Indian classical music, traditional dances, and art from around the country at Victoria Memorial Hall at the annual VMH Culture Fest. Painting, dance and music come together as mediums to showcase India’s rich cultural heritage against the stunning backdrop of Victoria Memorial between December 20 and 24.
It all starts on December 20 with Sangeet Virasat featuring Arshad Ali Khan, Abir Mukherjee, and Sarwar Hussain on the instruments. On December 21, Kalyan Majumdar and Abir Mukherjee take the stage for a sitar and tabla jugalbandi, Raag Rang. On December 22, another musical offering, Raag and Rabindranath, will bring together strings, percussion and vocals to celebrate the bond between melody and life.
Shifting from music to dance, on December 23, Purbita Mukherjee and Bhawanipur Baikali Association will stage a Manipuri dance performance. It all comes to a grand close on Christmas eve, as VMH and Bengal Biennale stage Evening Ragas, with Nishat Khan on the sitar and Tanmoy Bose on the tabla.
Bookmark the dates as the North West Lawn of the iconic Kolkata monument comes alive with music and dance.
