A
juxtaposition of the global and the hyperlocal is taking place at the Indian
Museum through “Endangered Spaces”, a collaborative photography exhibition,
between April 12 and 15. The exhibition brings together the works of French
artist Helene Guetary from his ‘Zeitgeist’ series alongside featuring ‘Kushti:
The Lost Children of Postmodernism’ by Indian artist Jayesh Sharma. Curated by Anurag Kanoria, the exhibition promises a collaborative video
installation underpinned by the artists’ common longing to immortalise moments.
While
the exhibition begins on April 12, between 4pm and 7pm, doors are open on the
following three days between 10am and 6pm. From stormy waters in Venice to the
earthen tones of an akhada, the award-winning artists are set to bring
unique flavours to the showcase, with Guetary focusing on landscapes across the
globe and Sharma capturing the isolated world of Indian wrestlers striving for
an identity.
