For every Bengali Student Sahaj Path is a must read. It’s a language learning book written by Rabindranath Tagore. The illustrations of the book were done by Nandalal Bose, one of the pioneers of modern art. He was the principal at Kala Bhavan, the fine arts faculty of Visva Bharati University, Shantiniketan.
An exhibition on Bose is being organised at Akar Prakar art gallery in Hindustan Park. The month-long exhibition will start from January 27 and will continue till February 28. The exhibition will remain closed on public holidays.
The exhibition, curated by Debdutta Gupta, will showcase the impact of Mahatma Gandhi, Ramkrishna Deb and Rabindranath Tagore on Bose’s works. The much acclaimed original linocut of Mahatma Gandhi with a staff will be exhibited along with other paintings. His postcard drawings and even some documents on his ideas about the education system will also be showcased here.
