The Apeejay Kolkata
Literary Festival 2024 returns this year with a fresh lineup of speakers ready
to share their insights over three days and across multiple venues. Kicking off
on February 9, the festival will cover topics like environment and climate, fiction,
mystery, graphic and fantasy fiction, memoirs, food, history, gender,
translations and more. While Allen Park will host the majority of events, the
Poetry Café will be hosted at Alliance Française du Bengale. The other notable
sessions are planned for the Oxford Bookstore. Additionally, a special event
featuring Jerry Pinto and Anuja Chauhan is slated to take place at the
Tollygunge Club. The festival also welcomes the Poetry Café and Oxford Junior
Literature Festival, both hosting a diverse range of national and international
speakers.
While the schedule is
packed with new and interesting topics, some of the panels that caught our eye
were:
. Off The Page, where Swastika Mukherjee
and Riddhi Sen will explore how books transition into audio and stage
adaptations
. Abracadabra and the
Magic of Life will feature Ramanjit
Kaur and Baisakhi Saha in conversation
. Heart and Soul will have Dourjoy Datta speak on his latest
novel
. A reading of To The Moon And Back by Maria
Goretti
. Climate Fiction Movies
— a session with Dia
Mirza, Gargi Rawat, Rajat Chaudhuri and Bittu Sanghal. They will discuss how
books, films, and art can advance environmental causes
When: February 9 to 11, 10am to 8pm
Entry: Free
