Bespoke experiences always maximise satisfaction, and when it comes to footwear, the satisfaction of getting the right fit comes above everything else. Footwear designer Aniket Gupta, with his 13 years of experience in crafting shoes, opens doors to his couture store on CIT Road to offer customised experiences.

“My father was into footwear manufacturing. I joined him and started training in his office when I was in college. I later joined a corporate job but my passion for crafting shoes never dwindled. I call this my studio as my ideas are transformed into reality here. We are doing a variety of products like wallets, bags, jackets and aprons, but footwear is my forte,” said Aniket Gupta, founder and CEO of Aniket Gupta Bespoke Shoemaker.

The store, a 500sq ft aesthetically done-up space, has an array of products for customers to explore and gives them a peek into the world of shoemaking behind its frosted glass doors. Aniket, gathering ideas from his travels and from the Internet, gave it a dainty look with artificial greenery, complementing his studio’s grey and brown shades. “This studio is where I sit and decide the designs I want to develop. I took various concepts and restructured the store to my taste. The interior has an earthy vibe so that people feel welcome and can share their choices, desired designs and ideas. When one enters, they can see a video playing on a screen where we show them the art of shoemaking. They can see the various tools we use on display, too, and are made aware of the process from scratch. Each foot is different. We have a foot anatomy chart that helps us to analyse each foot and customise a shoe according to a person’s requirements. I give personal attention to detail and that makes our experience unique. We have a turnaround time of seven-10 days and most of our patrons wait for their shoes,” said Aniket.
