From the house of Baidyanath, Shatam Jeeva (meaning 100 lifetimes) is a luxury ayurvedic wellness retreat situated in the middle of a 100-acre man-made forest, which was once barren and fruitless, in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city and the stress of life, Shatam Jeeva is the destination where you can experience holistic wellness like never before. Formed under the tutelage of the managing director of the Baidyanath Group, Late Pandit Ramesh Kumar Sharma, now run by his wife and also the founder Anuradha Sharma (known as Mataji) the estate is now home to over one lakh trees and offers a transformative experience that promotes natural harmony and balance using the principles of ayurveda, holistic wellness and sattvic (pure essence) diet.

The Sharma Family, with a legacy spanning over a century through Baidyanath established in 1917, is committed to enabling longevity, rejuvenation, and vitality in people by preventing and curing diseases through Ayurveda. Shatam Jeeva offers a range of therapeutic ayurvedic experiences, from abhyanga to shirodhara, all performed by expert therapists and doctors. All herbs, medicinal plants and jari bootis that are used for the treatments are grown within Shatam Jeeva’s 100-acre estate and offer unmatched quality and purity. Wellness packages at Shatam Jeeva are curated by experienced planners like Ayurveda doctors and wellness experts. Minimum nights have been assigned to each package with the intent to have the best results by including the discipline for a healthier lifestyle, which is very strictly followed. The packages include several life-enriching experiences ranging from yoga, activities, therapies, and personalised detoxifying diet recommendations to chakra balancing and guided meditations to enable vitality in the body.

Apart from Ayurvedic therapies and sattvic cuisine, the Ayurveda retreat offers an array of indoor and outdoor adventures centred around the concept of panchkaram or the five elements of Ayurveda, namely ether, air, fire, water and Earth. From tree hugging to art therapy to Agni shuddhi, nature walks, cow feeding, pottery making and tree planting, the estate provides mindfulness-promoting activities to ensure a soul-rejuvenating experience in the lap of nature. The culinary journey at Cafe Ira and the herbal juice bar enables guests to experience the core flavours of local and 100 per cent organic produce through sattvic and vegetarian food that encourages farm-to-table dining. The estate also offers interactive activities such as plucking your own vegetables and interactions with the chefs to exchange healthy tips and recipes.

“At Shatam Jeeva, you can bring your body, mind, and spirit back into a state of natural balance and live a hundred years, as the name suggests. The operations at Shatam Jeeva started post-pandemic when the founders realised the need of maintaining proper health and harmony with one’s body and soul and making such practices accessible to all. We at Shatam Jeeva offer personalised treatments targeting specific issues (vikrittis) of the individuals and provide Ayurvedic therapeutic healing treatments,” said Dr Sreeragh Nair, general manager of Shatam Jeeva.
