The Golden Parkk, the hotel on Harrington Street, has been blooming like never before since last year, thanks to the mix of nationwide and local F&B brands that are choosing to be housed inside the hotel. Adding to their bouquet of food outlets is restro-bar and lounge Makaati, owned by Bhupinder Gujral. This 15,000sqft place is spread across two floors with a massive 150ft bar running across. “After we opened Wafira last year, the idea behind opening Makaati was to offer an all-day place with amazing food and cocktails. We named this Makaati after the famous city in the Philippines, where I had gone many years ago and had loved the vibe,” said Bhupinder, MD and chairman of The Golden Parkk.
Makaati boasts of a 150ft-long U-shaped bar, which means better service and no jostling for your drink. Telegraph picture
There is a designated dance floor, DJ console that will have DJ Kunal G belt out music that would primarily range from mainstream to electronic. “With Wafira playing Bolly music, we will ensure the music is of different genre here so it doesn’t overlap,” said Md Nadeem Siddiqui, general manager, operations.
With dominant shades of green, gold and maroon, the decor has a warm and rich tone. “We want to give the city back something that will be remembered, loved by people over time. The Golden Parkk offers places for people of various kinds. Everyone will find something for them here,” added Gaganjeet Gujral, director, The Golden Parkk.
