As a merchant sailor, I consider myself lucky to have visited many beautiful places across the world. Last week, I was in Ajaccio (Corsica), France, where I got the opportunity to visit the mansion of its most famous son, Napoleon Bonaparte, the French military commander and political leader who rose to prominence during the French Revolution, about whom we read in history books in school. Maison Bonaparte, the pale yellow colour mansion with tall blue windows where Napoleon was born on August 15, 1769, has been beautifully restored and renovated. It serves as a museum now and attracts visitors in droves
