Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa pampered us with their warm hospitality and offered a two-day stay at this ‘garden island’ during our recent visit. While Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru in Maldives was all about experiencing nature’s calm and getting immersed in wellness activities, the Four Seasons’s property on Kuda Huraa treated us to experiences of community activities and the fun vibes of a Maldivian vacay.

As we reached the island in the afternoon, day one was all about relaxing, enjoying a cocktail evening and gearing up for a very busy second day. Out of its various accommodation options, we chose the water villas for a different experience as compared to our beach villa stay on Landaa Giraavaru. Being an early riser, the sunrise water villa was added to my list of memorable experiences during the stay, where I witnessed a mesmerising sunrise view on the second day of my stay at the property.
After a lazy breakfast at Cafe Huraa, enjoying the ocean view, we headed for the Marine Discovery Centre to learn about coral reefs and enthusiastically participated in the group activity of learning to make coral frames. Followed by the activity, a pamper session was awaiting us at the spa, where we enjoyed a de-stressing hot water massage.
STAY AT KUDA HURAA: Different kinds of bungalow and suite accommodations are available for the stay, with a choice of breathtaking views — sunset, sunrise or garden. The interiors are spaciously done, with basic and luxury amenities. The private pool and chill spots make it ideal for solo relaxation or even a romantic or family vacation.
Ahead of experiencing Italian delicacies for lunch at the Reef Club, we were spirited enough to try surfing at the surf haven that Kuda Huraa is, despite having no prior experience. The Tropicsurf coaches helped us to pick up some basic steps of surfing in our hour-long session with them, and by the end of it, we did manage to stand on the surfboards in the water without falling! It is always an unparalleled joy to learn something new during a vacay.
A sunset safari was in store for us post-lunch, where a majestic boat sailed us to the fascinating deep ocean. The cool evening breeze, the sunset sky and the joy of spotting a pod of whales, swimming alongside our boat, is an unforgettable experience indeed, which soothed the mind and heart like no other. Back on the beach while the last rays of the sun were painting the sky in sunset hues, we were lucky to be at the resort on a Thursday to experience one of its Thursday-special sundowners. On such evenings, guests gather on the beach to enjoy the sunset together, with live snacks, cocktails and mocktail counters, and of course, live music adding to this scenic and relaxing experience.
The pool villa we chose to stay at treated us to a memorable sunset view from the outdoor private chill spots attached to these villas, set up with hammocks and comfy sofas
To get a feel of all the culinary experiences at the resort, we indulged in a comforting and spicy Indian spread on the second day, after being treated to a seafood meal on the first night. Back in my water villa, after a lazy night walk from Baraabaru, the Asian fine-dine at the resort, I sealed the night memorably gazing at the sky sprinkled with stars and watching the fish gather for food underneath my hammock while relaxing under the open sky.
