Tollywood’s leading ladies sure know how to paint a pretty picture, be it on the screen or on a canvas. Acting and painting are not that different at all as means of self-expression, and actors like Surangana Bandyopadhyay, Anindita Bose, Ankita Chakraborty, and Solanki Roy seem to have mastered both these skills.

Surangana, who first made her presence felt in the industry with Anindya Chatterjee’s directorial venture Open Tee Bioscope recently shared her very first portrait on her Instagram account, which was a nuanced sketch of Michael Jackson. The artwork didn’t just win over her fans but also received applause from fellow actor Gourab Chatterjee.

Actor Ankita Chakraborty who is in Mumbai at the moment recently carved out some time from her schedule to make an abstract piece titled ‘Amor,’ that is just as colourful as her screen presence. The actor captured the process and shared it on Instagram via a reel, pairing it with the popular Kavita Seth number Rangi Saari. Check it out for yourself!

Anindita Bose’s relationship with art has only evolved with time. The Paatal Lok actor graduated from JJ School of Arts, she majored in ceramics and painting and is an admirer of Jamini Roy, Frida Kahlo, Salvador Dali and Andy Warhol. The ace performer also spearheaded an initiative called Art Breathes Life, in collaboration with Give India.

Solanki Roy who studied International Relations at Jadavpur University is never out of ideas to express herself; no wonder art and Solanki have found each other! A few months ago, she made a piece titled ‘Dusamayer Dingulite Prem’ (love in hard times) that reflected how love and companionship sustain during difficult times.
