Rahul Kyal is the new chairperson of ICC Young Leaders Forum. He comes armed with years of experience in a renowned business group. With skills in strategizing and the goal to take any organisation to new heights, Kyal has been part of YLF for the past three years. And for the last two years Kyal served YLF as a core committee member, a role that allowed him to contribute significantly to the heart of all operations. He sits down with t2 for a chat.
Congratulations on your new role as chair of YLF. How significant is this position to you?
Assuming the role of chairperson at the Young Leaders Forum (YLF) is a privilege that fills me with both pride and a sense of profound responsibility. I aim to embody the R.I.S.E. philosophy, which is also my theme of the year. Reinventing leadership paradigms, Innovating through new ideas and strategies, fostering Synergy among young minds, and Engaging actively between young leaders. This role is not just a position to me; it’s a commitment to elevate and empower our young members to shape a better future.
You are taking over from Arihant Parakh who had his own area of interest and goals. How much does he inspire you?
Arihant Parakh’s tenure as chairperson of YLF was marked by his success in organising events with prominent personalities like Sharmila Tagore, Anupam Kher, Shilpa Shetty and many more has set a new benchmark for engaging and inspiring our members. Moreover, the first-ever YLF retreat, which was a resounding success under his leadership, exemplifies the kind of impactful and memorable experiences that I aim to continue.
What will be your focus area for the tenure?
My tenure will be dedicated to deepening the experiential aspect of our events. While we will continue the tradition of inspirational speaker events, I am committed to expanding our repertoire to include a wide array of engaging activities that foster camaraderie and synergy within the forum. We plan to bring together influential speakers from different walks of life to share their diverse perspectives with our members. I also plan to place a special emphasis on sporting activities within our calendar. Moreover, in the spirit of combining business with pleasure, one of my focal initiatives will be to organise an annual retreat to a destination that promises a rich blend of professional growth and leisure.
How do you intend to use your skills to take the organisation to a greater height?
I shall try and use my planning skills and my strong work ethic to ensure that every initiative is executed with precision. I intend to be hands-on involved in the day-to-day activities of YLF, ensuring that our action plans are not only ambitious but also attainable.

Complementing our speaker series, we have planned experiential events that are specifically tailored to foster member bonding.
