When did your association with the Young Leaders Forum (YLF) begin?
The Young Leaders Forum of the Indian Chamber of Commerce is an exclusive forum of young achievers from different segments of society. YLF, comprising young professionals and young achievers drawn from diverse fields of business and industry, aims at building confidence and leadership skills amongst its young members. Apart from being a platform for serious networking, YLF also identifies itself with social and interactive events. Since its launch, YLF has organised meetings with so many important dignitaries and personalities, like Sunil Bharti Mittal, Jayant Sinha, Smriti Irani, Karan Johar, Sourav Ganguly, Leander Paes and Hardeep Singh Puri, to name a few. I joined YLF in 2016 as a part of the committee and became chairperson in January 2020.
Any sessions from the past that have stayed with you?
YLF has been doing one of the best sessions in the city and we have had personalities and dignitaries from Bollywood, politicians, industrialists and sportspersons. The best sports event was with Michael Clarke and he told us about an emotional yet very inspirational life journey. Jayant Sinha was a very motivational event for me and there were a few fun events with Raveena Tandon and Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury.
As the new president what are your plans for the future?
Half of this year was with online sessions and now my priority would be creating a bond among the members. We just did a YLF T10 cricket tournament last month followed by a social and award night. There will be regular sessions with eminent speakers followed by a weekend staycation. We are soon launching YLF chapters in Delhi, Mumbai and Guwahati this year. I always believe in a saying by Francis of Assisi — “Start by doing what’s necessary, then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”
