Culture enthusiasts of Calcutta recently welcomed classical dancer and activist Mallika Sarabhai for a Choupal session organised by Prabha Khaitan Foundation and Ehsaas Woman of Kolkata, in association with t2. Supported by Shree Cement as part of their CSR initiative, the talk session was hosted at the residence of kantha queen Shamlu Dudeja.

A Padma Bhushan recipient, Sarabhai engaged in a rendezvous with Priti Patel, an exponent of Manipuri dance. Sarabhai exuded charm, grace and vivacity as she shared fond moments and memories of her life, family and performances that choreographed her way to global success and recognition. The audience listened in rapt attention as Sarabhai shared her thoughts on feminism and patriarchy and how she uses her creative prowess and artistic platform to bring about social change by voicing the language of the unheard and the oppressed.
