Team England and Team Pakistan played the 44th game of ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Eden Gardens on November 11. While there was a dominance of English supporters at the stadium, there was a very special guest sitting and watching the match from the L2 box. Who? Mick Jagger, the frontman of Rolling Stones, was at the stadium to watch the match along with his girlfriend Melanie Hamrick and their son Deveraux.
On Friday, November 10, the legendary singer checked in at the Grand Presidential Suite of ITC Royal Bengal around 5.30pm under super tight security vigilance. The brand new suite has been readied with amenities for him
Jagger, who had checked in to ITC Royal Bengal on Friday afternoon, attended the match and he seemed to thoroughly enjoy the game as England beat Pakistan by 93 runs. Apart from being a legendary musician, Jagger is a sports lover and he has previously been spotted attending cricket and football matches across the world.
Dressed in a printed shirt, grey pants, a dual-coloured jacket and black cap, Jagger was seen seated in the box and was often spotted walking with a chilled bottle of water
With reports of Jagger attending the match making the rounds, fans hoped that the singer would perhaps perform, but in vain.
Jagger was joined by his girlfriend Melanie Hamrick and their adorable son Deveraux, who watched the match closely from the balcony of the box
The Telegraph lensman caught the singer at the stadium and here are some exclusive glimpses.
A regular at Eden Gardens as a spectator, Usha Uthup was spotted singing Satisfaction, a Rolling Stones hit number, with Mick Jagger, the man himself. Wearing a cap, with a multi-coloured kantha stole around his neck, the legendary singer was all smiles, while posing for a video being shot by our very own Ushadi.
