A 21-year-old man video-called his older brother to say he was about to end his life minutes before he allegedly jumped off the Vidyasagar Setu in west Kolkata close to midnight on Monday.

Sikesh Singh, a resident of Chetla’s Shyam Bose Road in southwest Kolkata who worked as an accountant at an office at Ladies Park near Park Circus, had video-called his brother and said he was “tired of his life”, an officer said.

“He also apparently told his brother no one was responsible for his death,” the officer said.

“A search has been launched to find Sikesh in the Hooghly,” said an officer.
