Season’s musings
My Winter Holiday
During my winter holidays, to Delhi I came,
With so many monuments, it looks like a game.
Rashtrapati Bhavan museum was so fascinating,
So many new things I learnt, it was really exciting.
One night we were going back to our hotel,
We saw the India Gate on our way, this is something to tell!
In the Red Fort, we saw so many things,
Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khas, they were so amazing!
In the Delhi zoo, so many animals were there,
Jaguar, tiger, hornbill…one here and one there!
On our way out from Delhi zoo, I saw the old fort,
It looked like a little crackly, brick little court.
The Qutb Minar was so tall!
Compared to it, everything looked small!
The Iron Pillar was very much older,
There is no rust on it, the colour is also colder.
About the magnificent Delhi, this is my winter song,
If you like it and are feeling cold, then sing along!

Craft corner: fridge magnet
MATERIALS USED:
1. Cardboard (cut out from box) 2. Coloured paper (cut outs)
3. Piece of lace 9cm with a wavy edge (cut piece)
4. Used dot pen refill 5. Air dry clay 6. Joiner (Fevicol/ Dendrite)
7. A pair of scissors 8. Pen or pencil 9. Small magnet
METHOD: Cut a small piece, approximately 9cm x 4cm, from a cardboard box. Then from the middle point of the 9cm side ie. at 4.5cm, mark a small dot. From the dot join the corner at the bottom with a curved line. Fold from the midpoint and cut along the curved line drawn.
Apply the joiner on one side of the cardboard and paste the coloured paper. After pasting it on the cardboard cut the coloured paper along the shape of the cardboard. Cut the dot pen refill 7cm from its nib and apply joiner and paste the same colour paper to cover it. After that, apply joiner on it and paste it on the back side of the card with the nib jutting out from the mid point of the cut-out shape.
Paste a thin cardboard cut out of a soap box or a medicine box on the rear side of the card board covering the refill and cut it out in the shape. Paste any plain paper on this this card board for a nice finish. Paste the lace at the bottom of the umbrella. With help of air dry clay make the handle and cover the nib. After it dries, paste the magnet at the back of the umbrella.
The refrigerator magnet is complete and ready to be stuck on the fridge.
