With no rain, depression, Met office predicts a suitable weekend

If Purulia was shivering at 6.2 degrees Celsius on Friday, Saturday was slightly warmer. However, south Bengal will continue to witness the cold spell for the next few days, the Met office said.

While the minimum temperature in Kolkata on Friday was registered at 10.9 degrees Celsius, on Saturday, it was 12 degrees Celsius. “Temperature will remain low in Kolkata but will not dip below 10 degrees Celsius,” said an IMD official.

Till Sunday, south Bengal will remain just perfect! The minimum temperature on Saturday morning was registered at 8.9 degree Celsius and on Sunday it is likely to hover around 9 degrees Celsius, the Met office said. The maximum temperature would not go beyond 22 degrees Celsius, according to the Met office forecast.

Bishnupur

With 24.2 degrees Celsius as the maximum temperature on Friday and 9.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature on Saturday, this tourist spot will be a perfect setting. The weather office says there are no chances of rain or depression and the skies will remain mostly clear.

Sunderbans

Sunday may greet you with a minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius. On Saturday, the minimum temperature was the same, which was three degrees Celsius below normal. However, despite the clear sky, you might experience fog in the morning which may hinder the view of mangroves.

Diamond Harbour

On Saturday, Diamond Harbour experienced 11.3 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature, which was two degrees lower than the normal. The Met office predicts a chilly Sunday morning. The fog will clear out as the day proceeds.

Digha

Relatively hotter than the other South Bengal destinations, this coastal town’s maximum temperature was recorded at 25.1 degrees Celsius on Friday and the minimum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 10.6 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees below normal. On Sunday, it might register as a degree warmer. According to the IMD, the average wind speed is also likely to decrease.

Darjeeling and Kalimpong

If you are heading for the north, Darjeeling will be warmer. On Friday, the maximum temperature of the hill station was registered at 15.8 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature on Saturday was seven degrees Celsius, both temperatures were five degrees Celsius higher than the normal.

Kalimpong’s maximum temperature was registered at 16.5 degrees Celsius on Friday and the minimum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 8.5 degrees Celsius. On Sunday, the maximum temperature might increase by a couple of degrees, but the minimum temperature is expected to remain the same. Though the Met office says that it will not rain, the weather at hill stations can’t be predictable.
