Listeners got mesmerised by the melody of Bengali songs at a recent musical programme that was held at Rabindra Sadan to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty’s music school Shrutinandan.
Well-known musicians like singer Snigdhadeb Sengupta and violinists Debshankar Ray and Jotishankar Ray performed at ‘Bangla Ganer Ashor’ on July 17.
“The journey of Shrutinandan has been very satisfying. From a humble beginning to becoming one of the major classical music training institutions of the country, Shrutinandan has come a long way,” said Chakrabarty.
“I thank all my students, teachers and other employees for making Shrutinandan a centre for excellence. We have planned multiple events to celebrate our silver jubilee. ‘Bangla Ganer Ashor’ is one such event that’s been organised to celebrate music,” added Chakrabarty.
Shrutinandan carries out research in Hindustani classical music to restore some of the undocumented works by great maestros, according to a press release.
