“The flyover will be closed for a thorough paint work along both flanks at night. Commuters can access it as usual from 6am till 11.30pm,” said an officer of the traffic department.

The project, being executed by the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA), formally commenced on Monday night.

The two-day Bengal Global Business Summit will be held at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in New Town on April 20 and 21.

International delegates who participate in the convention are put up in hotels across the city and they often have to drive through the Parama flyover to reach the convention centre.

The AJC Bose Road flyover, which connects with the Parama flyover, has been closed to traffic between midnight and 5am for around a week since April 1 for electrical maintenance work by the Hooghly River Bridge Commissioners (HRBC).

The HRBC is also carrying out another repair project of the AJC Bose Road flyover, which started on April 1 and will continue till April 15.
