The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) board has announced the counselling schedule for admission to engineering colleges through JEE Main.
Ten per cent of the seats in West Bengal’s private engineering colleges (over 3,000) are reserved for those who crack JEE Main.
“The two-phase online counselling will start on September 29. The selected candidates have time till October 22 to report to the institutes allotted to them during the counselling,” said JEE board chairman Malayendu Saha.
This phase of counselling is not related to the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination.
Counselling for admission through the state JEE is underway and will continue till late September.
A separate counselling will be held for admission to architecture courses.
The aspirants for the BTech and architecture courses must complete the registration process and lock their choice of course between September 29 and October 11, said a JEE board official.
The first round of seat allotment for BTech and architecture courses through JEE Main will be announced on October 14, he said.
The second round of allotments will be declared on October 20.
According to the Architecture Council of India’s rules, an architecture aspirant must crack the West Bengal JEE and the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) or Paper II of JEE Main.
“The results of the aptitude test were announced earlier. Then came the results of JEE Main Paper II. So the admission to the architecture courses is being held separately,” he said.
