Traffic bar on Red Road for Independence Day parade

Red Road will be closed to traffic till Monday noon for the Independence Day parade.

August 15 being a dry day, availability of liquor will be restricted to clubs and hotels which are three-star or above.

Traffic restrictions

  • Red Road will be closed to all vehicles till noon on Monday
  • Kidderpore Road, Rani Rashmoni Avenue, Plassey Gate Road, Kingsway, Dufferin Road, Outram Road and parts of Government Place West will be closed to traffic till the event on Red Road is over

Dry day

  • All categories of retail outlets or premises licensed to sell liquor will be closed on Monday
  • Liquor can be served only at clubs and bars attached to hotels that are three stars and above
