Ambulance catches fire
An ambulance carrying a patient caught fire at the crossing of CIT Road and Ultadanga Main Road on Friday afternoon. One fire tender doused the flames. The patient and other occupants of the ambulance were shifted to another ambulance, police said.
Bus hits pedestrian
A 51-year-old pedestrian was hit by a minibus on Old Court House Street on Friday afternoon. Police said Ramakant Tiwari, a resident of Burnpur, has been admitted to SSKM Hospital with head injuries. The police have arrested the bus driver and impounded the vehicle.
