Four people were chatting with each other at close quarters at Esplanade, all without masks. The photographer saw them for about 15 minutes. “We have breathing trouble if we wear a mask,” said one of them.

Two women were taking a selfie. They had come to New Town for a video shoot, they said. “We are doing a video shoot and so not wearing masks,” said the one with the phone.
Outside Central, a shopping mall in New Town, a man and a woman were without masks. The woman admitted that she had forgotten to wear one. “Oh, I forgot to wear the mask,” she said. Calling out to a friend, she said: “Please take out the mask from the bag and give it to me. I will wear it.”
At a traffic signal in Phoolbagan, a biker and a woman riding pillion were both without masks. “It is very hot so I am not wearing a mask,” the woman said.
A man on BB Ganguly Street was spotted talking on the phone, the reason why he was not wearing a mask, he said. “The voice gets muffled when I am talking with the mask. So, I have removed it.”
