Sujay Krishna Bhadra,61, who came to be known as “Kalighat’er Kaku (uncle from Kalighat)”, has been accused of sharing the details of candidates with Manik Bhattacharya, former president of the West Bengal Primary Education Board, to get them jobs in schools against payment.

ED lawyers requested the court to grant them permission to collect Bhadra’s voice samples to match with the voice in the interceptions related to his purported conversations that allegedly indicated his involvement in the job scam.

Bhadra’s lawyer Sk. Salim Rahaman objected to the plea. The court turned down the plea. It extended Bhadra’s judicial custody till June 28.
