A Class X student fell to death from the 21st floor apartment of his aunt in a high-rise on Christopher Road in Tangra on Friday evening.
The 15-year-old student of a missionary school in Howrah had gone to spend the day at his aunt’s house with his mother.
The family has been residing of Liluah for several years, police said. The teenager has a younger brother, aged around five years.
Immediately after the fall, the teenager was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The police have started an unnatural death case. Officers are scanning CCTV footage.
The police said the boy had a good time with his family and went to the rooftop swimming pool in the afternoon.
“The boy had spent close to an hour in the pool on Friday afternoon. He loved swimming,” said an officer of Tangra police station. “We are collecting evidence to find out what happened next.”
