To facilitate examinees of forthcoming Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) examination, two exam special trains will run between Kolkata and Silchar and Dibrugarh and Howrah.
The 05674 Silchar–Kolkata Examination Special will leave Silchar at 1.45pm on August 9 (Tuesday) to reach Kolkata at 1.30pm the next day. The 05673 Kolkata–Silchar Examination Special will leave Kolkata at 1.30pm on August 12 (Friday) to reach Silchar at 5am on the third day.
The train will stop at Naihati, Bandel, Katwa, Azimganj and Malda Town stations en route in both directions over the Eastern Railway system.
The special train will have general second class, sleeper class and air-conditioned accommodation.
Moreover, Indian Railways has decided to provide additional stops at Chaparmukh Junction, Nalbari, Barpeta Road, Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar stations in both directions for newly introduced 05972/05971 Dibrugarh Howrah Dibrugarh Examination Special for RRB examinees. The train will stop at Bandel, Barddhaman, Rampurhat, Barharwa, Sahibganj, Kahalgaon, Bhagalpur, Sultanganj and Munger stations en route in both directions over the Eastern Railway system as per earlier notification by Eastern Railway.
Booking of both the Examination Special trains 05971 (Howrah-Dibrugarh) and 05673 (Kolkata-Silchar) will be made available on and from August 9 through Passenger Reservation System counter and online. Eastern Railway has stated that a special fare will be charged and concessional booking will not be allowed. Also, Tatkal quota is not available for these trains. For reserved segment, AC 3-tier and sleeper class will be available. For general 2nd class (GS/LWS) & GSLR/SLRD/LSLRD coaches will run as unreserved.
