Acting on a complaint from a 22-year-old job seeker from East Burdwan, who alleged he had paid Rs 46,000 to an agency named Kolkata Institute of Professional Studies in July, the police raided the office on the first-floor of SDF building in Sector V. Six people were arrested, including the owners of the agency, Sumon Mondal and Bristi Das, the police said.

“The complainant had seen an advertisement on Facebook. He was assured a job in the airport’s cargo department. When he didn’t get one, he visited the office but was threatened,” said an officer.

"The Airports Authority of India cautions job seekers against unscrupulous persons posing as employees/representatives/agents of AAI with the ulterior motive... to cheat the public at large. They fraudulently offer jobs online on certain websites/through telephone calls, soliciting prospective candidates for jobs, and asking them to deposit some amount in certain bank accounts. It has come to our notice that these people are using the name, trademark and logo of Airports Authority of India with a view to tarnish the image and reputation of AAI,” the authority has said.

Airport-related job information is available in the “careers” section fcalcuttaof http://www.aai.aero.
