Thursday proved harrowing for commuters around the city’s business district. With two rallies choking all main thoroughfares around BBD Bag, traffic stood standstill from Rabindra Sadan to Raj Bhavan. Mahestala resident Indranil Sinha said: ‘I had urgent work at a private bank at BBD Bag. But I had to cancel my trip to the city centre because of the rallies. With barely a few days left for Durga Puja to start, completing urgent work should be everybody's priority before holiday mood sets in, not getting stranded in hours-long traffic snarls triggered by rallies’
