AN Block is one of the most neglected corners of the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation and we, the residents, are the worst sufferers.

Situated between Salt Lake’s AL Block and Sector V, it is a forgotten part of the township.

The road in front of our complex is dangerous with big potholes. Cars zoom past and there is no speed limit, putting both motorists and pedestrians at risk. Moreover, the stretch has been taken over by unauthorised garages that block the road with automobile scraps.

Streetlights don’t work either. This stretch is a disaster waiting to happen, unless our councillor wakes up and takes proactive steps.

Passengers are being exploited by drivers of all modes of public transportation these days.

Autorickshaws and battery-operated rickshaws are over-charging us on all major routes.

Fares have increased three-fold as compared to the pre-pandemic days.

Sector V has hardly any provision to park two-wheelers but illegal parking attendants are teeming. They have no shame in demanding Rs 100 in place of rates that should have been about Rs 10!

As for buses, there are hardly any buses or autos from the Beleghata side that go to Sector V.
