Pool car climbs on divider, kids safe

Driver dropped children to school, after which he got in touch with their parents, said the officer

The driver of a pool car carrying schoolchildren lost control and the vehicle climbed on the median divider of the road behind Orchids The International School, New Town, on Wednesday morning.

None of the children was injured, police said. The pool car dropped them to school.

“The car was headed towards the Major Arterial Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle and swerved left before hitting the kerb stones of the median divider. The front wheel of the car climbed on the median divider,” said an officer of the Bidhannagar commissionerate.

The driver managed to reverse the car and get back on the road, the officer said.

“The children, although shaken after the accident, escaped unhurt.”

The driver dropped the children to school, after which he got in touch with their parents, said the officer.

A large volume of traffic makes its way towards the Orchids school intersection in the morning, most of them to drop children.
