Playschool tots relish day in the sun

From running with a fan to jumping as frogs to the finish line, children of EuroKids had a fun time in the sun at their “health is wealth day” at the BB-BC ground recently.Students from play group to kindergarten age groups took part in the events. The kids took the streamers and danced to Dil mein Mars hai from the film Mission Mangal, while many were happy to dance and wave, a few chose to go and meet their parents in between their performances.Two and a half year old Anushmita Goswami began crying in between her drill performance as soon as she saw her mother clicking pictures and waving from the crowd. “She usually loves dancing but today she suddenly started crying as soon she saw me. I did not stand at the front during her race, even then she started crying.” said Arijuta Goswami, mother of the little girl.Students were seen taking part in various races. In the umbrella race, they had to run while picking the umbrella, but Diptarko Bera, after picking the umbrella opened it, placed it above his head and ran to the finish line. For the “make a necklace” race, students had to insert a string into balls to make a necklace and then run to the finish line, but Nihira Joardar of nursery decided to run back to the lanes to remove the baskets from her race and help teachers to clean the tracks for the next race.Children were happy to pose for their parents as they took pictures of them in various poses. But many were also seen asking for chocolates or balloons as bribes in return to stand quietly. Nandita Banerjee was happy to see her grandchild return to school and to be able to attend sports day with him again. “His elder sister was also a student of this school. I used to come with her. It feels good to see them back on the field with everyone. The last couple of years had been hard on them too. It is great that things are getting better,” said the grandmother of three-year-old Aarya.
