More Metro trains on Sundays, timings extended

The number of trains on Sundays in the North-South corridor has gone up.

The carrier will run now run 130 trains instead of 128 on Sundays.

The Metro Railway Kolkata authorities uploaded the revised schedule on social media on Thursday.

The timings for the last Metro from Dum Dum and Kavi Subhas on Sundays have also changed. The last service from both the stations will be now at 9.40pm instead of 9.30pm.

The first trains will continue to leave all three terminal stations at 9am.

East-West Metro timings remain unchanged.

Pedestrian run over

A 36-year-old pedestrian was run over by an unidentified vehicle on Strand Bank Road on yesterday morning. Sandeep Singh was declared dead at RG Kar hospital.

Meter room fire

A fire broke out in the electric meter room on the first floor of a five-storeyed building in Garden Reach early on yesterday. One fire tender doused it. No one was injured.
