A mini book fair is coming to the doorstep for residents of Sector III, especially FD Block. The Publishers and Booksellers Guild is organising Tomar Amar Boi Mela at the FD Block community hall from July 15 over the weekend, from 2pm to 9pm.

“We are organising pop-up book fairs across the city. Two have already been held in Regent Estate and a private housing complex in Santoshpur. This will be the third. We are trying to reach out to people through the year to keep their reading habit alive. We have high hopes of Salt Lake readers as the Book Fair has been such a success here. Residents are educated and have disposable income,” said Esha Chatterjee, a member of the guild.

Over 35 publishers will take part in the fair with mostly Bengali and some English books. The inauguration will be done by author Samaresh Majumdar on Friday at 5.30pm. Cultural programmes by residents will also take place in FD Park.
