But the dip was an aberration and the Celsius is expected to rise from Tuesday, said the official.

“By Wednesday, the Celsius is tipped to reach 33 degrees. By the weekend, the Celsius is tipped to be close to 34-35 degrees,” he said.

An exhibition — Wrong Routes — opened at Ganges Art Gallery on Monday. It features paintings, a series of animations, book art and a set of handcrafted single-edition newspapers. “The set of works has been three years in the making. When I started, life was moving at speed. There were so many roads and losing track was not unusual. Then came Covid. Everything was caught in a standstill. All roads and directions got mixed up,” said Amritah Sen, the artist. The exhibition was inaugurated by Manfred Auster, consul-general of Germany in Calcutta. Students — past and present, on campus and online — attended the 145th Founders’ Day of Calcutta Boys’ School on Monday evening.

Confluence 2022 is an occasion for the entire school family to gather and revel in memories and “enjoy Calcutta Boys’ School” as it is today.

On Monday evening, the audience maintained a minute’s silence to pay tribute to the lives lost in the pandemic.

The Founders’ Day message was delivered by Bishop Anilkumar J. Servand, presiding bishop, Lucknow Episcopal Area, Methodist

Church in India, and chairman of Calcutta Boys’ School.

Father Servand asked teachers and pastors to be “advocates of change”. Principal Raja McGee said: “It is an occasion of great joy.” He thanked those who had taken time out of their busy schedule to join the programme.
