The West Bengal chief minister, Mamata Banerjee, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a bouquet of projects at the IPGMER-SSKM Hospital and annexe building on Thursday. She renovated a 100-bed paediatric medicine ward and a four-storied state-of-the-art sports medicine unit. She also laid the foundation stone for a 10-storied 124-bed private cabin building which will consist of outdoor, laboratory, radiological services and operation theatre, a seven-storied hostel building with advanced cancer treatment facilities and a 50-bed critical care block at the Kolkata Police Hospital with operation theatre, dialysis, emergency, isolation ward services.
