The minimum temperature in Kolkata climbed up to 15.8 degrees, two notches above normal, on Sunday.

The night temperature will continue to rise over the next few days, according to the forecast. Another wet spell, induced by a Western Disturbance, was headed Calcutta’s way, the Met office said.

On Monday and Tuesday, the western districts of Bengal like Purulia, Bankura, West Midnapore and Jhargram are likely to get rain. From Wednesday to Friday, all districts of south Bengal are likely to get rain. The rain will subside by January 15 and the sky is likely to start clearing from January 16,” said a Met official.
