- 12 noon to 6pm: Chittaranjan Avenue, Jawaharlal Nehru Road, Bentinck Street
Metro Railway inspection
The chairperson of the Railway Board, Jaya Varma Sinha, inspected the Howrah Maidan-Esplanade stretch of East-West Metro on Tuesday. The stretch is scheduled to have commercial runs by the end of this year. Accompanied by P. Uday Kumar Reddy, the general manager of Metro Railway, Varma Sinha travelled from Howrah Maidan to Esplanade station, including a stretch under the Hooghly. The 16.5km east-west corridor, once complete, will connect Howrah Maidan with Sector V. It is now operational between Sector V and Sealdah.
