Admission quota for school
The school education department has introduced a 10 per cent quota for the economically weaker section for admission at the elementary level in all government and government-aided and sponsored schools where admission takes place through the draw of lots. An official of the department said the category-wise percentage of seats would include 22 per cent, 6 per cent, 10 per cent, 7 per cent, 3 per cent and 10 per cent for the SC, ST, OBC(A), OBC(B), children with special needs and economically weaker sections, respectively. Found hanging BANSDRONI: Amit Chatterjee, 44, was found hanging from the ceiling in a room of a residential building in Nath Para in Bansdroni on Tuesday. Metro token
The Metro Railway started selling tokens with the Chandrayaan-3 logo from the booking counters of all three corridors on Tuesday. One lakh such new tokens -- celebrating India’s successful lunar mission -- will be sold to commuters, said an official.
