Half-day classes at IIEST and IITK
IIT Kharagpur and IIEST Shibpur have suspended their classes in the first half on Wednesday so students can attend the screening of Prime Minister Narendra Modi lay- ing foundation stones for three semiconductor facilities in the country. IIEST said the heads of departments will take attendance of the students during the screening.
Bratya meets Bose
Education minister Bratya Basu went to Raj Bhavan on Tuesday and met the governor, who is the chancellor of state-aided universities, to discuss the appointment of full-term vice-chancellors. The Supreme Court recently asked the governor and the state government to thrash out differences over VC appointments.
