Kolkata Traffic Police posted a list of programmes that might affect the city traffic on Wednesday (21.2.2024)

  • 10.30am: Rally down Mahatma Gandhi Road, Chittaranjan Avenue, Muralidhar Sen Street
  • 12 noon: Agitation programme at SP Mukherjee Road and Hazra Road
  • 1.30pm: Demonstration at SP Mukherjee Road and Hazra Road
  • 3.30pm: Programme at Rashbehari Avenue
  • 5pm: Rally at Lindsay Street, Corporation Place, SN Banerjee Road, Jawaharlal Nehru Road

ICSE starts today with English Paper 1

The ICSE (Class X) exams start on Wednesday and will continue till March 28. About 80,000 students from over 460 schools in Bengal will appear for their first public examinations, being conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). On Wednesday, students will write their English language paper (English Paper 1). Each day s test, except for the art papers, will begin at 11am. A 15-minute reading time is allotted, so the question papers will be distributed at 10.45am. Students across institutions have been asked to reach their schools well in time. In most schools, students have been given instructions to be followed in the examination halls.

IIT projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated infrastructure development projects at IIT Kharagpur in the presence of Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union minister for education and skill development and entrepreneurship, on Tuesday. The infrastructure development projects included two girls hostels named Savitri Bai Phule Hall of Residence; one Boys Hostel named Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hall of Residence and one annexe building of the chemical engineering department. Subhas Sarkar, the Union minister of state for education, also attended the event.
