Metro trains today
Metro Railway will run 234 trips on the north-south corridor on Wednesday, Saraswati Puja. The usual weekday count is 288. There will be no change in the timings of the first and last trains, an official said. The carrier will run 90 trips on the east-west corridor (Green Line), instead of 106. The timings of the first and last trains will remain the same. There will be no services on the Joka-Taratala section (Purple Line).
Bidhannagar Mela
The Bidhannagar Mela Utsav will be held at the Central Park fairground from February 21 to March 12. It will have over 200 stalls. There will be stalls from Turkey, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
Mayor unwell
Mayor Firhad Hakim was admitted to Apollo Multispeciality Hospitals on Tuesday afternoon after he complained of fatigue, weakness, severe dehydration and headache. A statement issued by the hospital said the problems followed "extended exposure to the sun". He will be discharged after laboratory and radiology investigations.
