Jadavpur University waterlogging
Jadavpur University has issued a notice asking the heads of the departments and university officials to inform the registrar about waterlogging in their buildings and nearby areas so steps can be taken to prevent "outbreak of dengue inside the university campus”.
A 23-year-old JU student had died of dengue in September last year. The notice, signed by the registrar, said: "In the rainy season there is a possibility of stagnation of water in different places of the university which may lead to outbreak of Dengue inside the university campus. All the concerned HOD/ Directors/ officers of the university are requested to inform the undersigned about the waterlogging... so the necessary measures can be taken..." Last year, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation had criticised JU for not taking steps to prevent waterlogging on the campus
TET hard disks
The CBI, probing the alleged irregularities in recruitments in state-aided schools in Bengal, has decided to send hard disks and servers recovered from S Basu Roy and Company for forensic tests to labs in Delhi and Hyderabad, officials said. Calcutta High Court had earlier directed the CBI to retrieve original or destroyed servers, disks or data on scanned OMR sheets from the 2014 Teachers Eligibility Test. CBI officers said some work for the TET process was outsourced to S Basu Roy and Company.
