4-hour Metro token glitch
Tokens could not be issued from Metro counters across the stations on all the three operational sections (New Garia-Dakshineswar, Sector V-Sealdah and Joka-Taratala) for close to four hours on Monday morning. Metro officials cited a “sudden software problem”. The glitch persisted from the beginning of commercial services to 10.42am, said an official.
“Paper tickets were sold from the counters during the period. Smart cards and QR-coded tickets worked normally,” he said. Officials of the Centre for Railway Information Systems fixed the snag and tokens were issued again from 10.42am, he said.
