New police stations
Three police stations will be created by splitting the jurisdiction of Narendrapur police station. These police stations will be brought under Calcutta police, the state government has decided. The new police stations will cover parts of Kheyada I, Kheyada II and Atghara gram panchayats, under Narendrapur police station. Senior officers said work to set up the police stations will start after a notification is issued by the state home department.
Camp
A camp in Sandeshkhali in North-24 Parganas helped persons with disability to file online applications for disability certificates and Unique Disability Identity Cards (UDID). The camp, organised by NGO Sabdarnagar Education and Welfare Society, was held on January 28 in Tushkali, near the Atapur ferry ghat in Sandeshkhali II block. Forty-one people applied for the certificates.
