TET rescheduled
The Teachers Eligibility Test (TET), which screens candidates for appointment as teachers at government-aided primary schools, has been postponed from December 10 to December 24, said an official of the state primary education board. The rescheduling was because of unavoidable circumstances, the official said.
Pous Mela not this year, says university
Visva-Bharati and Santiniketan Trust on Monday jointly decided not to organise the century-old Pous Mela this year citing several reasons as constraints. Both sides reached a consensus that it would not be feasible to organise the event this year despite "all good intentions". "After a meeting of officials of the Trust and the varsity, it was decided that organising the fair was not possible, primarily because of a shortage of time. There are four challenges discussed in the meeting which can t be sorted out," said a senior varsity official.
Jadavpur University committee
Jadavpur University vice-chancellor Buddhadeb Sau on Monday notified the formation of a four-member committee to probe complaints against a teacher in the department of international relations. The committee has to submit a report in 15 days.
