The earlier roster was announced on December 23, before the announcement of the dates of the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections in Bengal, an education department official said.

Electrocution at Sealdah station

A man was spotted on the roof of a local train that entered Sealdah station on Monday afternoon. He died of suspected electrocution from the pantograph, said a railway official. “He was lying motionless on the roof of a Krishnagar Local, which entered platform 1 around 4.15pm. A power block was taken before his body was brought down around 4.30pm,” said the official.

The man was declared dead at hospital. A case of unnatural death has been registered by the Government Railway Police. The railway police were trying to ascertain the man s identity. The pantograph draws power from the overhead wires. Railway services were not affected because of the incident, said an official.
