Kolkata Traffic Police posted a list of programmes that might affect the city traffic on Thursday (14.9.2023)

  • 10pm: Procession from 10, Portuguse Church Street which will move along Brabourne Road - Tea Board - Ezra Street - Rabindra Sarani - Canning Street - Brabourne Road and back to Imambara
  • 12 noon: Meeting at 148, Chittaranjan Avenue in front of BSNL office. A procession will be taken out from Sealdah to Mahajati Sadan for the same
  • 1pm: Procession from College Square on College Street to Rani Rashmoni Avenue via College Street – Nirmal Chandra Street – Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road – SN Banerjee Road – Dorina crossing
  • 4pm: Procession from the front of Ranu Chhaya Mukta Mancha destined for Hazra crossing near Jatin Das Park via Cathedral Road, AJC Bose Road, Exide crossing, SP Mukherjee Road etc
  • 8.30pm to 10.30pm: Religious programme from 134/34 Mahtma Gandhi Road and move along Mahatma Gandhi Road, TC Dutta, Rabindra Sarani, Canning Street

Teachers Eligibility Test on December 10

The state primary education board will hold the TET (Teachers Eligibility Test) on December 10 adhering to NCTE guidelines for the appointment of teachers in state-aided primary schools. The academic and professional qualifications required to write the test have been uploaded on the board s website. The online application process will start on September 14 and conclude on October 4. Recruitment of teachers based on last December s TET has not yet been started by the board.

Fraud cuffs

A 32-year-old man from Bankura, Arindam Palit, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly posing as an official of the Employees Provident Fund organisation (EPFO) and siphoning off Rs 2 lakh from the bank account of an elderly woman in Salt Lake.

Job cheat

A youth was arrested on Tuesday on charges of cheating and forgery for allegedly promising to get a man a state government job after the victim reported the matter to police. The accused, Writtik Paul, was the admin of a WhatsApp group on which he promised to get the complainant a job, police said
