- 1pm: Procession from 6 Muralidhar Sen Lane to CESC head office, Dharmatala via Chittaranjan Avenue
- 2.30pm: Procession from Cathedral Road and Shakespeare Sarani Extension crossing towards Raj Bhavan via Jawaharlal Nehru Road and Rani Rashmoni Avenue
Political rallies on Thursday
Two political gatherings are lined up in the heart of Kolkata on Thursday afternoon. A Trinamool march will proceed from Rabindra Sadan to Raj Bhavan to protest the detention of Trinamool leaders in Delhi on Tuesday night. The rally is likely to disrupt traffic in parts of south Kolkata on Thursday afternoon.
Vehicular movement on AJC Bose Road, Casuarina Avenue, Mayo Road and Red Road could be affected after 2.30pm, police said. Supporters of the BJP will march from Muralidhar Sen Lane to the CESC headquarters at Victoria House to protest power tariff. The march is likely to affect traffic on Chittarnjan Avenue and Jawaharlal Nehru Road, post-noon.
Aadhaar fraud
Three men were arrested on Tuesday night in connection with a fraud related to the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System. Police identified them as Mohammad Musha Alam, 29, Mohammad Naushad Hayat, 26, and Posirul Alam, 29.
